helper is pleased to announce Domain of a Partial Function, a group show presenting a spectrum of objects from useless to utilitarian, with an emphasis on the intermediary. Processes of casting, molding, masking, repeating, and repurposing are applied to elemental forms and variables, generating small subversive or productive gestures. The resulting forms are imbued with a partial functionality, both vaguely domestic and mathematically operative.

The exhibition, organized by Sam Stewart and Jule Korneffel, was conceived as an international collaboration. Alfons Knogl and Jule Korneffel both live and work in Cologne, Germany where they organize exhibitions under the name Zusi Graham. Bjöern Meyer-Ebrecht, originally from Berlin, graduated with an MFA from Hunter College in 2002 and currently lives in New York. Aaron Meyers is an MFA candidate in Sculpture and Extended Media at the University of Texas at Austin, after graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics. Born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Gabriel Pericàs is working in New York as a Fulbright grantee. Jessica Sanders received an MFA from Ohio State University and currently lives and works in Brooklyn. Also residing in Brooklyn is Sam Stewart, the newest member of helper.
